History of Public Debt Management Office

The Public Debt Management Office (PDMO) was established by the Cabinet resolution on October 1, 1999. Initially, it was an agency under the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance before being upgraded to a department-level agency under the Ministry of Finance in accordance with the Act on the Improvement of Ministries, Departments and Agencies B.E. 2545 on October 9, 2002, by merging the work of 2 agencies into one: the Fiscal Policy Office in the Loan Policy Division, the Capital Market Loan Policy Division, the Social Investment Project Division and the Advisory Information Center, and the Comptroller General's Department in the Public Debt and Treasury Division and the Public Debt and Treasury Analysis Group.
